Russell Peirce grew up in Lee's Summit, Mo, where he was saved around six years old at Christian Center Church and was called into ministry at the age of 15.
He began his ministerial experience as a youth pastor with the Freewill Baptist churches. From there he went on to study at Bible College in Nashville.
In recent years, he worked in manufacturing and was called to be the part-time youth minister at First Baptist Independence, Mo.
Russell is now the Senior Pastor and was previously the Associate Pastor of Youth and Families here at First Baptist Church of Lexington.

Suellen Lauvstad is the Church Secretary/Administrative Assistant here at First Baptist and she believes in the power of relationship in the community and in the church. Suellen has been self-employed for thirty years as a hair colorist, EMT-B, and a certified Real-Estate appraiser. She now uses those skills she hs accumulated to work for the Church. She has been blessed to have two grandchildren and another one on the way.
Paul was Born in London, England 1953, and has a twin brother, Toma, an older brother Mark, and older sister Kathleen (RIP). His father, Jim (RIP), served in the Merchant Marines and the United States Army for 36 years and mother, Jean Ann (RIP), was a part time elementary school teacher. Paul was active in the military, serving in the US Navy for 23 years in the computer field. He worked at the NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) in Hawaii for 11 years in Ship and Port security. He was part owner and worker at King Sweep Custodial Services for 10 years in Hawaii. Paul received Jesus Christ as his Lord, Savior and Master in 2016 and was baptized in 2017 at the New Hope Church in Honolulu, Hawaii. Paul joined the Church by letter in April 24th, 2024.
David Garner has been a member of First Baptist since 1960, and has attended since 1953, in the nursery with Mrs. Betty Duncan, and Mrs. Wallace. As a member He has seen the expansion to Educational Building in 1958, and eventual building of the new Sanctuary on 13 Hwy. He currently serves as a Deacon, Church Clerk, Website and Historian of the Church, following Katherine Van Amburg, Mr. Leslie Bell, and many others who have contributed to keeping the history since 1825.
